Making Peace With Your Body: Journeying Back to Your Sacred Self (A 5 Week Immersion for Women)

Description:
Many of us have spent years being unkind to our bodies and our selves-criticizing, numbing with substances, neglecting sleep, or pushing too hard. This can also include unhealthy relationships with food and exercise. We come together weekly to practice making peace with our bodies as a sacred first step toward creating change in the world. Join our workshops in November and December as gentle introductions to this journey.

Through Body Meditation (very slow, mindful movement inspired by Hanna Somatics), we relearn how to slow down and turn inward. We reconnect with our inner wisdom, cultivating compassion and a deeper, more loving relationship with our bodies.

Each class draws on themes from Reclaiming Beauty by Heidi Andersen, encouraging us to reclaim inner beauty in contrast to the societal focus on outer beauty. We redefine what productivity and success mean for ourselves and embrace the permission to rest without guilt. This journey supports a deeper connection to the Sacred Self and fosters a more authenticcompassionate relationship with our bodies.

This offering is a longer journey, which is broken up into 5-week immersions. You can join us for one, several, or all immersions along this long, beautiful journey. Between each 5-week immersion, we take one or two weeks to integrate before starting the next, allowing time for deeper reflection and embodiment. Please click on the links to find out more and/or register for the workshops and the journey.

What to Expect Throughout Each 5-Week Immersion
In this series, we’ll explore a variety of tools and practices to help you reconnect with your body and cultivate a compassionate relationship with yourself, including:

IFS-Inspired Practices: Learn to embody the qualities of Self—calm, compassion, curiosity, clarity, courage, creativity, confidence, and connectedness.

Body Meditation (very slow, mindful movement inspired by Hanna Somatics): Movements designed to release tension and reconnect with your body.

Breath Explorations: Discover various breath practices to calm the mind, relax the body, and energize the body.

Reflective Journaling: Delve into topics such as societal beauty standards, the ways in which we harm our bodies, feelings of unworthiness, personal power, and more.

Sacred Sharing: We honor that we are all healers, each carrying wisdom from our own journey. By coming together, we create a collective Self energy through sharing and support.

Important Notes:
While this group fosters healing and self-compassion, this is not therapy or a substitute for therapy. This is a space for women who have done some personal work and are looking to build a compassionate connection to their bodies and to others through shared wisdom, mindfulness, and embodied practices.

We will use themes from Reclaiming Beauty throughout our time together. Whether you join us for one 5-week immersion or ten, I highly recommend purchasing the book Reclaiming Beauty by Heidi Andersen. This book will guide us through themes of self-acceptance, inner beauty, and body connection during our classes. Heidi has also created the Reclaiming Beauty Wisdom Deck, which complements the work we will be doing together.
